Every person has their own way to relieve stress that they got and I would show some ways to relieve my stress and the effects of it. About stress, stress is a natural reaction to the demands and pressures of our daily life. It is the body's way of reacting to demand or threat. When you feel danger or get nervous, it's the defensive way that your body reacts. It is the response that your body protects you. In small doses, stress can actually be beneficial to people. It can motivate you to perform well under pressure and can even boost your memory. But most of the time people feel stress with many disadvantages both mentally and physically.
Physical reactions can come as headaches, muscle tension, digestive issues, etc. Emotional reactions such as anxiety, depression, etc. Prolonged stress can weaken your immune system, making it easier to feel illnesses and diseases. It can also contribute to serious health problems like heart disease, high blood pressure, and obesity. So recognizing stress and caring about it will really help you to maintain your overall health.
This is my story about stress and how I take care of it. When I was young I had irritable bowel syndrome, which is a chronic disease that causes repeated unpleasant digestive symptoms after eating something or getting a little stressed. For me, after getting a little bit of stress that I would not even notice gave me diarrhea. It was something like taking a bus in the morning to go to school, and when I visited a new place.
It is a very annoying disease I would say, almost every morning I had suffered from diarrhea and I fought with myself. I arrived at school with a cold sweat because of fighting myself on the bus and I went to the bathroom every morning. I had to solve this problem so I tried some ways that might solve this problem. My first try was to read a book on the bus which didn't relieve stress that I didn’t feel. Second try was to sleep on the bus. It also didn’t make a difference because I was not sleepy on the bus. I felt if I could sleep on the bus, I might not have diarrhea because I would not feel that I’m on the bus. So I woke up earlier than before and exercised to make my body feel tired. This actually was effective because I felt tired on the bus so I slept and I didn’t feel the stomachache.
There was also a side effect of it, that morning routine didn’t only make me tired on the bus but also for some classes so I had to take another action for it. Finally I just rode a car to the school and surprisingly I didn’t feel a stomach ache. I think this was just an immediate action if I felt stressed but for most people stress stacks over time and it will come to you later with some disease that you will suffer. In order to prevent this situation, you will know how to relieve stress that you have. It can be listening to music, playing games, watching movies, reading books, talking to people, sleeping, etc.
Learning to know and challenge negative thoughts and practicing time management and problem-solving skills can be beneficial in relieving stress. After doing different kinds of activities to relieve your stress but it doesn’t seem to be helping you? It is important to seek professional help from a therapist or a doctor that will help you to go through the suffering.
